For MBK Plus service offering, we have your back through the entire home renovation experience from design to materials purchasing, all the way through to completion of construction. You are always welcome to speak with your contractor but you can count on us as the “source of truth” and escalation point in case anything goes wrong or you have any questions. For MBK Standard service offering, your contractor will be your main point of contact throughout the construction period.
MBK is here to assist, however, the responsibility falls on the homeowner to speak with the HOA and obtain all approvals, requirements, and information necessary for MBK to complete the renovation. We are happy to help by providing any additional information that might be needed to fill out an HOA’s paperwork, if applicable. We can also provide copies of the 2D plans that can be shared with the HOA that detail the renovation work to be completed.
After you choose your design and desired finishes, MBK orders everything for you and stores it at our warehouses. We carefully inspect materials upon arrival to ensure nothing was damaged, and if so we request replacements from our suppliers at no cost to you.
No, we don’t offer our design services alone. We want to make sure you end up with an incredible result and can only help you do that if we work together through the entire process. However, if you already have a contractor and they are open to working with us, we would be happy to do that at the price they quoted you.
Design is at the core of our service with everything else flowing from it — materials selection and purchasing, architecture, permitting, and construction. We’re always excited to incorporate your feedback, ideas, and pre-existing preferences (Pinterest boards!) but we do need to run a full design process for each project we do.
We currently are only able to perform full renovations. In some cases, we may be able to keep an item or two, however it may not always be cost-effective to do so because of the additional time needed to remove or protect those items during demo and construction. During your consultation, your project consultant can provide more details and help you better assess the options.
We take a $2,000 deposit per bathroom to kick off your project plus the cost of any add-ons you have chosen. After you have received the first presentation of your bathroom design, we will bill you for the remainder of your services fees. Once you have approved your final materials selection, we will invoice you for the cost of your chosen materials and applicable handling fees and taxes. The permit cost is invoiced at the time the permit is paid for with the city and mailed to your home. Finally, the remaining 3 payments are billed during construction at the completion of demolition, rough-in, and after the final inspection is passed. Any applicable change orders that arise during construction are billed after final inspection.
